2026 Campbient Residency (due March 1)
Attention Sound Artists:
Applications for the 2026 Campbient Residency in Kanaskat-Palmer State Park, Ravensdale, WA open at noon January 5, 2026, otherwise known as International Campbient Day. Priority applications close on March 1, 2026. The dates for this year’s residency are June 4-7, 2026.
CAMPBIENT is an annual sound art residency that brings together people for 44 hours to conceptualize, produce, and record 44 minutes of sound art compositions in a state park.

Guest Artist Details
Lisa Schonberg is a composer, percussionist, and ecological sound artist. Informed by her background in entomology, Schonberg composes music with a focus on cryptic sounds of insects to bring attention to these sound worlds, often collaborating with ecologists. Her recent work includes music composition systems that interact with insect sound in real time. She has produced work on ant bioacoustics in the Brazilian Amazon, urban insects, cellular frequencies, old-growth forests, endangered Hawaiian bees, and fungi. She is the author of Text Scores for Getting to Know the Invertebrates, The Hylaeus Project, and the The DIY Guide to Drums, and has presented work at the Nobel Prize Museum, Staten Island Museum, Antwerp Museum of Contemporary Art, FILE Festival, EMST Athens, SALT Istanbul, Henry Gallery, and Museo Reina Sofia. She has completed residencies with Cebimar Biological Station (BR), Wave Farm, Labverde (BR), the Banff Centre, Pioneer Works, & HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, and has received support from the New York State Council on the Arts, Oregon Arts Commission, Regional Arts and Culture Commission, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and the Center for Deep Listening. Schonberg earned a Masters in Environmental Studies at Evergreen State College (WA) and a PhD in Electronic Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY).
