Moment & Place of Listening with Sun Wei
March 25th (7 p.m. GMT+8) Check your timezone for this event here →
For over a decade, Sun Wei has been involved in the field of sound art, creating field recordings, soundscape compositions, conceptual compositions, acoustic-electronic improvisations and site-specific sound installations.
His work explores the relationship between time and vibration through different sonic media in a variety of spatial environments. Installations, recordings, and performances blur the boundaries between frequency perceptions of the audible and inaudible.
Projects include sonic recordings of natural and unnatural areas, microscopic soundscapes traveling through unfamiliar territories, and listening to the background noises of everyday life.
During Moment & Place of Listening, Sun Wei will share more about his practice and current interests. After the presentation, like all Sessions on Listening, there will be time for a dynamic and lively discussion.
